About

This blog hold my notes about my (mis)adventures with UNIX based systems including, but not limited to, Linux and BSD. This as a personal site; some sort of a fix for the inner geek in me. I AM NOT AN EXPERT in *nix based systems, that's why I have this blog.

I don't perpetuate the "this-OS-is-better-than-that-OS" banter. I am merely just another geeky sort of person who wants to try new things especially with computers. The last decade has only shown me one side to computing; many other sides exist. I am merely tapping in on a few of them.

For a rather exhaustive list, check out Distrowatch.com.

/usr - this directory contains user applications and a variety of other things for them, like their source codes, and pictures, docs, or config files they use. /usr is the largest directory on a Linux system, and some people like to have it on a separate partition. ~ tuxfiles
